Celtic Saints (Weekend)


Itinerary
FridayWelcome lunch reception at our hotel for the weekend, (located in Nairn) where you will meet your tour leader and companions. We then set off for Easter Ross, with our route including Tain (a major pilgrimage site in the 15th Century), Fearn Abbey (links with St Ninian of Whithorn), and a number of fascinating Black Isle sites with strong Pictish connections.
SaturdayToday we will travel around the Inverness area, visiting a range of sites with Christian associations, including Beauly Priory, Inverness's "Auld Kirk" and Dunlichity Church, a sacred place for the Clan Chattan confederation since early times
SundayOn our final day, we head east to Moray, and visit a number of important Christian sites , including Kinloss Abbey, the 12th Century Birnie Church (once the seat of the Bishops of Moray) and Burghead (a major Pictish site and possible the location of an early Christian baptistery). We will return to our hotel by 3pm to allow you to continue your journey homewards.
