Highlights
  • Dunrobin Castle, occupied since the early 13th Century and today still occupied by the same family. Famous for its chateau-like appearance towering over the Moray Firth and its formal French-style gardens.
  • Strome Castle - ruined during a feud between the clans MacDonald and MacKenzie. Dramatic location overlooking the sea and the Isle of Skye.
  • Eilean Donan Castle - restored in the 20th Century but remains of its 13th and 14th Century royal castle still visible. Strong Clan Macrae connections and stunning setting - possibly Scotland's most-photographed castle!
  • Cawdor Castle with its historic links to Shakespeare and MacBeth. Dating from the 14th Century, Cawdor has a fascinating fine art and antique collection and fine gardens.
