Castles of the Highlands (Weekend)

Itinerary

Friday	Welcome lunch reception at your hotel for the weekend - in the seaside town of Nairn - and meet your tour leader and companions. Travel north along the coastal road to south-east Sutherland where we visit magnificent Dunrobin Castle, home for many centuries of the Dukes and Earls of Sutherland.
Saturday	An action-packed day when we travel west to visit some famous and not-so-famous castles set amidst stunning West Highland scenery - including Eilean Donan Castle (a favourite location for film-makers) and Urquhart Castle on the shores of Loch Ness. Full of stories of clan battles and Jacobite campaigns, we return to our hotel for a relaxing dinner.
Sunday	Today takes us through Nairnshire and Moray to visit castles boasting connections with Shakespeare (Cawdor Castle), clan feuds, and the Bishops of Moray. A true feast of different castle styles awaits you. We return to our hotel by 3pm to allow you to continue your journey homewards.
